The History of Five Oaks
The Lodge at Five Oaks is all about history. It was built to celebrate the long history of the property where it sits. Dr. John Ogle bought 128 acres of farmland in Sevierville in 1925 and named the farm “Five Oaks” because of the five small oak trees he planted. At the time, the area was primarily dedicated to agriculture with virtually no tourism. Dr. Ogle, his wife Blanche, and their children lived in the farm house that is still standing across the Parkway from The Lodge at Five Oaks. Over the years, this land was developed to add places to eat, shop, and have fun as the tourism industry grew. Many of these places still pay homage to the history of the land with their name, including The Lodge at Five Oaks, Five Oaks Farm Kitchen, Adventure Park at Five Oaks, etc. Now SkyLand Ranch has also joined the family to help commemorate the farmlands that once existed here.
